Request for Family Choice of Instruction for First Semester
Dear Prince George County Families,
Prince George County Public Schools intends to welcome as many of our students back to campus for face-to-face instruction for as many days as we safely can, as soon as we can. It is also our intent to support our students and families with choices that respect the needs of each family. In order to meet the needs of all of our children and their families, PGCPS will offer two options for the fall. These include:
- In-person instruction for as many days as our resources will safely allow given the number of families who choose this option
- 100% Virtual/Remote Instruction
Each family is asked to make an instructional choice for first semester of one of the options for each child in the family. The opportunity to select your choice for first semester will begin tomorrow, Wednesday, July 22nd, and will continue through Wednesday, July 29th.
The form will be available at noon tomorrow and can be accessed within your Parent Portal. The link to the site can be found at the bottom of our main webpage. If you have any problems accessing the site, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
Along with your selected instructional option, additional responses are requested regarding your family’s transportation needs, personal protective equipment needs and preferences, and access to technology.
Once, we have an accurate count of how many of our families choose each option, we will be able to let you know how many days we can have students return to campus for instruction. Adjustments for first semester will be considered on a case-by-case basis based on space availability. Changes can be made for second semester.
Our goal is to have this information ready to share during the next School Board Meeting on Thursday, August 6th. We look forward to working with our students and families through the choice that best meets the needs of your student(s) and family.
Thank you for providing your response. PGCPS is proud to serve as your educational partners.

Due to the recent order from Governor Northam to close all public schools in Virginia for the next two weeks, Prince George County Schools will remain dedicated to providing continuity of instruction for our students during this time. To ensure students can continue learning during school closures, we are providing resources to maintain skills and reinforce previously taught content. These assignments will not be graded but we highly encourage you to have your child complete some activities to help students maintain mastery. We want students to stay engaged with the curriculum that they have been working on to date. Use the link below to access Prince George County's At-Home Online Learning Resources.
